"The Yukon Field Force (1898 – 1900) was an army unit of 203 men and officers from the RCR, RCD and RCA that was formed  to assist the North West Mounted Police to deal with the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon. The YFF trekked through northern British Columbia, navigated the inland waters of the Yukon to reach its final destination of Fort Selkirk and later Dawson City. The unit remained there for about two years when it was withdrawn as some members were later sent to the Anglo-Boer War in South Africa. This book lists all names of all who served in the YFF complete with a biography for each. There is a great selection of photographs, description of weapons, uniforms, badges, two diaries written by YFF members and much more information. This book fills an unknown chapter of Canadian military history and would make a great addition to your home library or reading selection."
